Boston Bike Night
This popular meeting has been held for over twenty years, it has mainly been held in the streets and car parks, which was good the for local shops, however for a couple of years the team running the event moved it into the town park this was not a popular move.

One of the main display areas was by “Boston Stump ” the towns well known church, there were loads of bikes here maybe 2,000 total in all the roads.

Walking through the high street I spotted loads of trikes,

then happiness, I had spotted a BSA outfit.

As usual at a motorcycle event I met up with friends who told me about a couple more outfits down the road a bit. True enough there was a German wartime outfit, this was for sale, the sidecar was on the right-hand side, this confused some people looking at it, I explained that it was easy enough to ride with the chair on that side, I had ridden Wolfgang’s outfits for miles in this country.

Later on, I saw a Harley outfit, I have seen this one here before, the current owner told me a bit of the history of it. Harley had done a police specification for Italy, but the police there preferred their Moto-guzzis being more agile around the smaller roads.

How the bike came to Britain is not known, the first owner here rode it until it got to heavy for him and then he fitted a chair to keep it upright, eventually selling it to the chap I was talking to. He was about to go home and he had to squeeze the outfit through the crowds, I mentioned this to him, his reply was no problem, I have sirens and red lights, I will get through.

I walked farther on and a four-piece band was playing, the band was sponsored by the Sports Bike shop nearby. This yearly meeting is well worth a visit if you are in the district
Roy.
