This is a very popular bike night held once or twice a year at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. I have been to several of these events and on a really good night they can get 5,000 plus bikes turn up. I arrived early about 5 pm, plenty of bikes were already there.

I spotted a newish Triumph and Watsonian outfit, I am always on the look out to see an outfit.  The Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service had a display by the Naafi.  I wandered into the hanger and brought some raffle tickets to try to win a ride in the Lancaster bomber that they have.

I purchased a cup of coffee from their war time mobile canteen the girls serving were looking upwards hoping that it would not rain again.

Amongst all the motorcycles I spotted a Harley outfit, talking to the owner he called his outfit a Bitza , the sidecar body was supposed to be from the 1930’s  and the chassis about 1960’s.  Any ideas on the sidecar body ??.

All sizes and ages of bikes turn up here from a 1800 cc BMW to a Raleigh Supermatic  50 cc moped in Lincolnshire  Police livery.

One owner had three old bikes in spotless condition, I mean OLD the one that I was interested in was a 1918 BSA outfit complete with a BSA sidecar.  It was fitted with gas lighting and the sidecar was very well sprung.  I was surprised when the owner told me that it had always been an outfit and he was its third owner!

Motorcycles were still pouring in at 7-30 pm the rain held off luckily.  There were plenty of food outlets so you would not go hungry.  The Taxi ride was at 8 pm with the band getting ready to play after that.  This is a really good do I was pleased to see some outfits and talk to the owners, quite a few trikes turned up as well.  Yes, I will go again it is good to catch up with friends.
