Saturday am the weather is rain showers so l take a stroll to the next village of Cottesmore.
RAF Cottesmore was home to “The Soldiers from the Sky” US 82nd Airborne and today is the 6th June 2026 82 years ago they took off from Cottesmore for Normandy and D Day on 6th June 1944.
Saturday evening two Jawa/CZ members entertains us with an evening of music.
Sunday on the way home l stop in the the village of Whissendine and visit
Melton Mowbray Model Engineering Society
and l make friends with this chap called MOSS he’s a Bearded Collie and for 12 years lived in
North Wales at side of the train lines of the
Welsh Highland Railway Society
However, his Welsh owner died so Moss was made homeless and an orphan until is present owner from Nottinghamshire adopted him.
Yes you’d gust it he just loves riding on TRAINS!!! Yes, yet another ride for Moss his owner pays a pound and he ride rides for free. Smoke or whistles on problem for Moss.
Also he takes up 2 free x seats.
